Layer Cake
... kicked my ass all over the place last night. I was expecting another Guy Ritchie smirky crime story and instead I got an ice cold demeanor. This is one gangster flick that while has a few laughs, knows when to play the serious tone and does. A lot. So, here's some samples from it's soundtrack.
Hayling by FC Kahuna - For it's chill intro and ambience. Sets the mood right from the beginning.
Four or the Floor (Soulsavers Mix) by Star Sailor - Haunting little piece that ties in with the action sequence and the sweet taste of revenge.
She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult - Oh why not.
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by Joe Cocker - Perfect song to the perfect ending.

I like the last one a lot. Its the sort of thing that's both excellent to put in a movie soundtrack and listen to while you're driving around town.
