Nick Drake's Pink Moon

Well, finally scored a copy of Nick Drake's masterpiece, Pink Moon. I gotta say, for 28 minutes, I was in a completely calm mood. This is perfect for playing late at night, it puts you in a perfect mood. It's lo-fi sound (made up completely of acoustic guitars and a smidge of piano) make for the perfect Nick Drake album. His guitar strumming has an almost twilight feeling, and his low singing is a perfect match for his playing. Iron and Wine is the strongest style comparison, minus his southern roots. Why not get the songs? You know you'll enjoy them.

Nick Drake - Pink Moon

You've got to read "A Long Way Down", Nick Hornby's new book. (you can borrow meghan's copy, I'm done ;) They talk a lot about him since they're all suicidal... and as always with Hornby there are tons of other great musical references... but the one with Drake is particularly great.
